ABOUT US

Dear Colleagues,

The International Guild of Auditory Processing Specialists (IGAPS) is a group of colleagues who work together because of our love and dedication to this work and the benefits that it provides to those who have this disorder.  Most things that we do are combined efforts of members who work together because we believe that ‘group genius’ offers the best results and enables members to be part of the solutions.  It is our mission, 1) to share our ideas, knowledge and techniques, 2) to work together as colleagues to solve problems and thereby improve the lives of those who have CAPD, 3) we are here to support and encourage each other so we can all move forward in this endeavor, 4) we recognize that we must also be able to earn a living while helping others, and finally 5) we are free to respectfully disagree with our colleagues in order to improve our effectiveness and understanding of APD.

Abe Lincoln, in talking about IGAPS was heard to say “This is an organization of the members, by the members and for the members.”  Then Honest Abe added, “…And importantly for the people we serve!”

Sincerely,
